From 5 December 2025 to 6 April 2026 it’s time again for pure skiing pleasure at the Katschberg ski area! Located right on the border between Salzburg and Carinthia, the Katschberg–Aineck ski region offers perfect conditions for your winter holiday.
Thanks to its altitude between 1,170 and 2,220 metres, you’ll enjoy absolute snow reliability. With 100% snow-covered slopes and 17 modern lifts, you can start your ski adventure relaxed and without long waiting times. In total, around 80 kilometres of varied slopes await you – from easy runs for beginners and families, to sporty challenges, and beautiful panoramic slopes for leisure skiers.

Unforgettable ski tours await you in the breathtaking nature surrounding our house. Without any long drive, you can enjoy the silence of the mountains, ascend and take in the views – starting right at your doorstep. The Katschberg – Lieser-Maltatal region offers attractive routes, for example to Tschaneck or further up towards Kareck (2,481 m).
There are also many touring options around Rennweg, suitable for beginners as well as advanced ski tourers.

Winter hiking
Right outside your doorstep, beautiful winter and snowshoe hikes begin. Around 30 kilometres of groomed trails lead you through snow-covered forests and across wide alpine meadows. A particularly lovely route takes you through the Gontal valley to the Pritzhütte and the Almfried, both easily reachable on foot. Guided snowshoe tours also offer new perspectives of the mountain world between Salzburg and Carinthia.
Enjoy the clear winter air, the crunching snow beneath your feet and the special silence – every step becomes an unforgettable nature experience.

Tobogganing fun Katschberg
A toboggan ride is simply part of every winter holiday – and around our house you’ll find the perfect places for it. After a pleasant ascent through the snowy winter landscape, traditional huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat before you race back down into the valley on two runners.
Sledges can be hired directly on site. Whether on the natural toboggan run at the Gamskogelhütte, at Petersbründl or on the illuminated run in Innerkrems (open until 10 pm) – everywhere you’ll find fun, exercise and cheerful moments. This makes your winter holiday at Katschberg an experience full of variety and joy.

Katschberg Advent Trail
The Katschberg Advent Trail passes right by our house – turning your stay into an unforgettable pre-Christmas experience. High up in the mountains, surrounded by deep snowy landscapes, you experience Advent far away from kitsch and commercial hustle. Along the atmospheric trail, you wander from one hay barn to the next, accompanied by alphorn players, traditional musicians, singing and storytelling.
For children, the Advent Trail becomes a magical experience with crafts, angels and teddy bears. Countless lanterns bathe the path in warm light, and tea stations offer cosy moments. Here, you stay right in the heart of the Advent magic.
